"...no mass-produced, machined guitar can achieve the volume and quality of a handmade guitar. That is like expecting a battalion of the Prussian army to gracefully perform Swan Lake"

Handmade classical guitars
Welcome to my site illustrating my work as a maker of handmade classical guitars. I take great pride in my instruments and strive constantly towards that elusive goal of constructing the perfect guitar.

I choose to create all of my classical guitars one at a time, using traditional artisan techniques and fine handtools. I use only the highest quality woods which I have sourced from Europe, North America and around the globe and which I carefully age in my workshop.

With the exception of the tuning machines and fret wire, I personally make all the components used in my guitars. Traditional models such as the RM and EC guitars have their own individual handmade rosettes. The woods used in all models are carefully selected and matched to produce an elegant as well as an acoustically satisfying guitar.

Current project
7 string ES concert classical guitar with 22 frets; sitka spruce soundboard; Indian rosewod back and sides; Rubner tuning machines with ebony buttons.
