EC model - Volume, colour and subtlety
Recent trends in guitar building have seen the emergence of concert classical guitars built with ultra-thin cedar soundboards. While there is no denying that they are capable of producing considerable volume, it is often pointed out that this has been achieved at the expense of timbral quality and character.
Influenced by the guitars of Herman Hauser, my personal EC model incorporates a much thicker soundboard than the ones used by contemporary or traditional Spanish makers. This combination of more wood, together with a very robust Paulino Bernabé bracing pattern, produces a guitar with ample reserves of volume, a rich palette of colour and great subtlety of tone.

Soundport and access panel
This model can be built with a soundport located in the upper rib and an access panel at the end block. The soundport significantly enhances the player's listening experience while the panel gives easier access to the inside of the instrument.
